MILACA, Minn. (KFGO) – Authorities in central Minnesota say a vehicle of interest in a hit-and-run crash that killed a doctor near Lake Mille Lacs late last year has been ruled out of the investigation.
Last month, investigators suspected a dark grey Tesla Model X belonging to a 42-year-old Edina man may have been the vehicle that hit and killed Cathy Donovan, but now say that was not the vehicle that struck her.
The Mille Lacs County Sheriff says the investigation into the Nov. 13 crash will continue and anyone with information should contact their office.
Donovan, 56, was walking her two dogs along highway 169 at the time of the crash. One of the dogs also died.
Donovan was a long-time doctor at Mille Lacs Health System in Onamia.
