FARGO (KFGO) – Macy’s has announced that it plans to close 150 unproductive stores, but it’s unclear whether the location at West Acres Shopping Center in Fargo will be affected.
Macy’s says the closings will take place over three years with 50 stores closing by the end of the year.
West Acres spokeswoman Alissa Adams says whatever happens, the shopping center is continuously prepared for change if it comes their way.
Adams says construction is beginning on Von Maur, an Iowa-based department store chain that will move into the former Herberger’s location. She says construction-fencing is in place and construction inside and outside will be noticeable in the coming months.
Von Maur is planning a Spring 2025 opening.
