Fire crews respond to fire at Fargo homeless encampment

FARGO (KFGO KVRR) – Fargo fire crews were called to a fire at a homeless encampment near Veterans Memorial Bridge around 6:50 a.m. Wed.

They were able to use long-reaching equipment to put out the flames near the Red River.

There were several campfires in the encampment that were unattended. No one was around when crews got to the scene. The fire dept. says there can be challenges responding to fires not connected to the roads.

There were no reports of injuries.
