MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) – Federal prosecutors in Minnesota are charging ten more people in the $250 million Feeding our Future fraud scheme.
The US Attorney’s Office says they were part of the scheme that defrauded the Federal Child Nutrition Program by misappropriating and misusing millions of dollars that were intended as reimbursements for the cost of serving meals to children during the pandemic.
The charges say two of them falsely claimed to have served more 3,000 meals a day at Evergreen Grocery and Deli in Minneapolis and received more than $4 million in payments.
70 people have been charged in the case.
