ALASKA TOWNSHIP, Minn. (KFGO) – A 76-year-old woman is dead after a head-on crash in northern Minnesota Friday.
According to the Beltrami County sheriff, the woman was driving her car east when it appears she attempted to pass a piece of farm machinery in a no passing zone at the top of a hill. That’s when her car crashed into a westbound pickup.
The woman, who was alone in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup suffered minor injuries.
The crash happened on Lumberjack Road, four miles east of Minnesota Highway 89 about 30 miles north of Bemidji.
