Pickup goes through ice in central Minnesota lake, driver later dies

GARRISON, Minn. – A man is dead after his pickup broke through the ice on Mille Lacs Lake Friday morning.

Mille Lacs County deputies responded to Flagship Inn around 10:50 a.m. on a call of a man in the water after his pickup had fallen through the ice.

80-year-old Richard Francis of Isle was pulled out of the water but died at a hospital.
