GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The future of the Grand Forks Air Force Base looks bright. That was the message 319th Commander Col. David Castor delivered to members of the Grand Forks School Board this week.
Col. Castor says it’s a different take from a decade ago when the situation was more unsettled. “We are looking forward to some announcements coming in the near future for a new mission. It’s kind of been promised for a while. It’s looking very certain there will be some announcements in the next couple of months.”
Col. Castor says while new GFAFB missions are likely, they may not translate into a huge increase in personnel. “The reality is the numbers will probably be about the same when you count everybody.”
