FARGO (KFGO) – A sideswiping hit-and-run driver was arrested Tuesday night in Fargo.
The driver fled after hitting a North Dakota Highway Patrol vehicle on I-94 near the tri-level.
The trooper was investigating a crash in the eastbound lane and was parked with emergency lights flashing, partially parked in the outside lane, providing traffic control for the disabled vehicle involved in the crash when another car sideswiped the patrol vehicle. It hit the push bumper on the front patrol vehicle and then fled the scene. The trooper wasn’t able to pursue the car but was able to get the license plate number.
Fargo police responded and found the vehicle and the driver at a Fargo residence. 69-year-old Timothy Rosendahl was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash and driving under the influence.
The woman from the disabled vehicle was in the patrol vehicle when the patrol vehicle was struck, but wasn’t injured. The trooper was also uninjured in the crash.
