ELLENDALE, N.D. (KFGO) – An 18-year-old man died Wednesday morning after he ran a stop sign and his SUV collided with semi-truck on a county road northeast of Ellendale. The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the victim as Boston Hagen of Fullerton, N.D.
State patrol says the crash happened at 8:41 a.m. at the intersection of Dickey County Road 3 and 89th St. SE. The semi was traveling eastbound on the county road when it t-boned Hagen’s southbound SUV, which failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. Both vehicles then entered the south ditch.
Hagen, who was not wearing his seatbelt, died in the crash. The 61-year-old semi driver from Manitoba was not injured.
State patrol says that while no charges will be filed, the crash is still under investigation.
The Dickey County Sheriff, Oakes Fire, and Ellendale Fire and Ambulance also responded to the scene.
