MOORHEAD (KFGO) – Former Fargo radio and TV journalist Doug Hamilton is among six people being inducted into the Moorhead High School Hall of Fame.
Hamilton graduated from Moorhead High in 1967 and received degrees from Moorhead State University and the University of Minnesota. He began his media career in 1975 at KTHI Television – now Valley News Live.
Hamilton worked for KFGO where he was part of the award-winning news team that captured a Peabody Award for coverage of the 1997 flood. He worked as the primary spokesman for MSUM before he joined Prairie Public Radio in 2012. He died just over a year ago.
Others being inducted into the hall of fame are former high school administrator and coach Russ Henegar, television producer Scott Hornbacher, wildlife biologist Greg Siekaniec, and former 7th District congressman Arlan Stangeland.
Stangeland served in the Minnesota legislature before he was elected to congress. He died in 2013.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for Saturday Sept. 30 at noon. It will be held at the Moorhead Area Public Schools Operations Center at 1313 30th Avenue S.
