FARGO (KFGO) – This year’s Check Out Hunger campaign raised $69,488 for Great Plains Food Bank.
This is the 30th year that Hornbacher’s has been raising money through July at its stores in Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo. Since the program began in 1994, the campaign has raised over $895,000.
Customers who shop at the stores are asked to donate either $1, $3, or $5 at the checkout counter.
“We all have a stake in our community,” Hornbacher’s President Matt Leiseth said. “Our customers care about their neighbors, and they are proving once again that the people of the Fargo-Moorhead area will take care of each other and reach out to support one another. Hornbacher’s is proud to partner with the Great Plains Food Bank and help support the great work they do for our community every day.”
Hornbacher’s runs a similar campaign in the winter with its Feed Hope campaign. They also donate over 900,000 pounds of food to Great Plains Food Bank every year.
