WEST FARGO (KFGO) – A fire in a West Fargo development about five miles west of the Red River Valley Fairgrounds destroyed a house early Thursday morning.
Around 1:30 a.m., the West Fargo Rural Fire Department was called on a report of a structure fire at 3917 9th Avenue W.
When crews arrived the roof was fully engulfed. Crews were on scene for about four hours fighting the blaze.
“As the roof was burning, it would collapse into each room,” Chief Steve Baron said. “So, it made it hard to access the interior of the home to get at each room to put the fires out.”
Baron said neither of the two occupants were hurt. The fire is under investigation.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Mapleton Fire Department, Harwood Fire Department, Sanford Ambulance, and the Salvation Army also responded.
