BISMARCK, N.D. ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO) – The governors of North Dakota and Minnesota have both ordered that state and US flags at state buildings and properties be lowered to half-staff through Saturday to honor Fargo Police patrol officer Jake Wallin. Wallin, 23, died in a shootout last Friday afternoon on 25th St. S.
Gov. Doug Burgum says Wallin dedicated his life to serving his country and protecting the community and citizens from danger.
Gov. Tim Walz says wallin was a dedicated member of the Minnesota National Guard who was respected by his family, friends and colleagues. The governors are urging residents, businesses and organizations to fly their flags at half-staff through Saturday.
Wallin’s funeral is set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. A memorial service is expected to be held in Fargo at later date.
