FARGO (KFGO) – Two people are in custody following a police chase that began shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday when a Fargo officer attempted to make a traffic stop on the Main Avenue Bridge.
The driver refused to stop and drove into Moorhead where Moorhead police picked up the pursuit. The driver eventually re-entered Fargo on I-94, exiting onto 25th Street South and headed north. The car came to a stop and the passenger bailed out and ran, but was quickly caught by officers.
Skyler Poitra, 32, who has no permanent address, was arrested for refusal to halt and preventing arrest. He was also wanted on a half-dozen warrants including assault and a felony probation violation.
The driver, Paulita Ruiz, 39, of Fargo, was charged with fleeing in a motor vehicle.
