MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota-based Target will soon add three more delivery hubs, two in Greater Chicago and one near Denver, to six already operating in Minneapolis, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and three in Texas.
The new centers are part of a growing push by retailers to make e-commerce more profitable.
Chief Operating Officer John Mulligan says in the past three years, Target has more than cut in half the average “per unit digital fulfillment cost.” E-commerce represents just under 20% of the retail giant’s sales.
