VALLEY CITY, N.D. (KFGO) – A Valley City man has been charged on several counts for allegedly starting a fire in an apartment building in Valley City on Sunday.
According to the Barnes County State’s Attorney’s Office, Brandon D. Woehl has been charged with felony terrorizing and a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.
Earlier this week, Valley City Police reported a man was taken to Mercy Hospital for a mental health evaluation after he barricaded himself in an apartment and started a fire shortly after noon Sunday.
Police Chief Phil Hatcher said Woehl barricaded himself inside the apartment for more than an hour before entry was made by police and he was arrested.
Access to the neighborhood was limited until the man was removed from the apartment.
Burned material was found inside, but there was no structural damage. No one was hurt.
