CANCUN, MEXICO (KFGO) – After 21 years on the run, a man wanted for sexual misconduct with a teenage girl in Moorhead has been arrested.
67-year-old Curtis Brovold was arrested by the FBI in Cancun, Mexico. He was a computer technician when police say he began communicating with the 14-year-old girl and eventually flew to Moorhead where they had sex at a hotel.
Moorhead Police Capt. Deric Swenson says the arrest was the result of ongoing collaboration between local, federal and international law enforcement. Brovold was arrested outside his home.
He will be returned to Minnesota and turned over to local law enforcement.
