FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. – Ramsey County Deputies used a chemical spray to disperse a crowd creating a disturbance at the main gate to the Minnesota State Fair as it was drawing to a close Monday.
The Ramsey County Sheriff’s office reported that shortly after 8 p.m a group of people tried to force their way into the fair through the gate at Snelling Avenue and Midway Parkway.
One man who was part of the disturbance had a gun, but there was no indication that he fired it. When the crowd would not obey orders to leave, the deputies used a handheld chemical agent, similar to mace, to disperse the crowd. Fairgoers attempting to leave, were delayed during the altercation, and then allowed to exit in a controlled manner
It’s not known how large the crowd was, whether there were any arrests or injuries, or what led to the disturbance.
