Gorilla Glue’s sales are soaring.
Tessica Brown’s viral Tik Tok video has created a boon for the product in search engines and on top digital marketplace Amazon.
Data from Profitero indicates Gorilla Glue’s Amazon best seller rank rose 129%, which translates into a significant spike in sales.
Research has also noted that the Cincinnati-based company is not spending much to capitalize on the frenzy.
Gorilla Glue CEO Mark Mercurio said the brand hasn’t altered its media plans in response to Brown’s attention-grabby antics, which have become internet legend – and even the inspiration behind a “Saturday Night Live” skit starring Academy Award winner Regina King last week.
The unexpected recognition is good fortune for Gorilla Glue, which prides itself for handling “The Toughest Jobs on Planet Earth.”
In early February, Brown, the 40-year-old mother of five took to social media to plead for help after a cosmetology mishap occurred when she allegedly substituted Gorilla Spray Adhesive after she ran out of her favorite Got2B glued hair spray.
Days later, Beverly Hills-based plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Obeng offered his services to free the Louisiana native from the embarrassingly sticky situation.
