ST. PAUL, MINN. (KFGO) – More Minnesota bars and restaurants are facing legal action for violating the COVID-19 order banning in-person service.
The Minnesota Department of Health issued cease-and-desist orders and notices of license suspension to Jamieson’s on Main in Oslo and Long Pine Store in Pine. Investigators say Jamieson’s on Main was serving food on-premises on December 21st and the penalty notice was served on December 26th.
Lone Pine Store was open for in-person consumption of alcohol on December 18th.
Attorney General Keith Ellison’s office says Freeborn County District Court approved its request for a temporary restraining order against Pour House in Clarks Grove. The A-G sued Pour House last week for offering indoor on-premise dining.
According to Health Department Assistant Commissioner Dan Huff, enforcement actions are a last resort when it’s clear that education and outreach are not sufficient to help a regulated establishment come into compliance with requirements.
