MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Jeff Bezos, announced Tuesday that she’s “donated more than $4.1 billion over the past four months to nearly 400 organizations helping fulfill basic needs for many Americans struggling in the pandemic.”
Scott, an award-winning writer, billionaire and philanthropist, divorced Bezos in 2019. The couple were married in 1993. Scott received a reported $38 billion divorce settlement.
By September of this year she had overtaken three other women to become the wealthiest woman in the world, listed in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index as worth $67.4 billion.
