REDWOOD FALLS, MINN – A rural Redwood Falls man is lucky to be alive after being pinned underneath a fallen tree for four days.
Redwood County Chief Deputy Mark Farasyn says his office received a 9-1-1 call Monday afternoon indicating that a tree had fallen on a person.
Family members had become concerned when 59-year-old Jonathan Ceplecha did not show up for work on Monday and discovered him pinned under a tree. Farasyn found Ceplecha and said he was alert and conscious and told him he’d been there since last Thursday morning.
Farasyn says it took two hours to remove the tree and Ceplecha was airlifted to the hospital for treatment of serious leg injuries.
He said Ceplecha is a veteran and teacher in Marshall and his survival was remarkable.
