MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) – Waseca, Minn. Police Officer Arik Matson will be recovering in another state.
Matson’s CaringBridge site says Matson will be flying out of state to continue his therapy for the next couple of months.
His sister-in-law said, “The rehab facilities in Minnesota currently don’t have the capabilities to provide the type of care he needs.” Nicole Matson wrote that Matson had a rough week or two with therapy and has been battling some depression, “but he’s pushing through!”
Matson, 32, was shot in the head Jan. 6 while responding to a suspicious person call in a backyard.
