Murphy’s personality has definitely evolved. He has discovered that he enjoys going to Rescue fundraisers and meet-and-greets. People like to fluff up his mohawk, and he seems to understand that it means he’s special. Low self-esteem is not an issue for him.
As Murphy has gotten more comfortable here, he has taken up new hobbies. He found a tug toy that he favors and enjoys a rousing game of tug. He also enjoys playing security guard, patrolling the perimeter of the yard and alerting the neighbors to the presence of garbage trucks, delivery trucks, mail trucks, bicyclists, turkeys…all serious threats
Murphy has a spunky personality and lets me know when he’s ready for some rubs and pets. At first, he was jealous of any attention I paid to the other dogs, but he has figured out that all he has to do is ask and he gets loves as needed. Like a lot of terriers, Murphy’s not just going to jump right into a loving relationship, but once you earn his trust, he’ll be all in.
