MOORHEAD,MINN. (KFGO) – Moorhead Public Service says a water main break caused a giant sinkhole on 10th Avenue North and 18th Street when water flushed out the gravel base, causing the pavement to collapse.
An MPS spokesman says the hole, estimated to be about 7 feet wide and 3 feet deep, will be temporarily filled with gravel and properly repaired with asphalt once weather warms up which may not be for several weeks.
The hole is now marked by barricades and traffic cones.
