MOORETON, N.D. (KFGO-AM) -- Trains are being rerouted in the Mooreton, North Dakota area after a fire. The railroad bridge north of State Hwy 13 was fully engulfed when fire crews arrived late Friday afternoon.
Crews from Mooreton, Dwight, Wyndmere and Wahpeton battled the fire for about two hours.
The bridge was destroyed. Red River Valley and Western Railroad says trains will be rerouted while the bridge is replaced. It's not known how long that work will take.
The fire is under investigation, but firefighters say it may have started by someone burning debris near the bridge.
