MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO AM) -- Residents of a south Moorhead neighborhood got a chance to learn more about a high risk sex offender living nearby.
Eric Fanning, who has served time for sexually assaulting several women, is living in the 1000 block of 10th street south.
Fanning just finished serving time for a 2006 rape at We-Fest where he was working as a security guard.
Neighbors are upset that a person considered likely to re-offend is being allowed to move into a neighborhood full of potential victims.
The Department of Corrections says once information about him is unveiled, the offender is less likely to get in trouble again and say at the end of the day, people like Fanning need to be able to get back on their feet.
Fanning has to abide by numerous conditions such as no contact with minors and no internet access.
He's one of 120 registered offenders in Moorhead.
