FARGO (KFGO-AM) - Fargo City Commissioners will take up a recommendation Monday night to appoint City Enterprise Director Bruce Grubb as Assistant City Administrator.

In a memorandum to Commissioners, City Administrator Pat Zavoral says within the next 24 months, he's planning to retire and he's been "encouraged" to come up with a plan for his replacement to ensure a smooth transitition.

Zavoral's recommended creation of an Assistant City Administrator, a job that would be filled by Grubb, who would continue his current job, in addition to taking on some new responsibilities as the assistant.

After a new City Administrator is hired, the Mayor and City Commission could then decide if the assistant's position would be made permanent or eliminated.

Zavoral is also requesting an out-of-grade pay bump for the assistant's job, amounting to $10,088.00 a year.
