DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) -- Dickinson police say a 31-year-old man suspected of firing shots at a passenger in a pickup has died after he was shot by police.
Officers in Dickinson responded to a report of possible gunshots Saturday evening. The suspect led police on a chase through a residential area before ditching his vehicle and fleeing on foot.
Police say the man, who was armed with a handgun, was shot after an encounter with police at a Dickinson residence. He died at the emergency room of a Dickinson hospital. His name has not been released.
The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation is reviewing the shooting.
