ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Gov. Mark Dayton has canceled plans to visit Marshall, where he was going to attend a groundbreaking for the Southwest Minnesota Regional Sports Center. Instead, he'll meet with local officials and emergency responders in Mankato and Owatonna to assess flood damage in south-central Minnesota.
The governor's office says will also visit flood-affected communities in southwestern Minnesota on Friday. He had planned to make that trip earlier this week, on Monday, but canceled it due to severe thunderstorms in the area. Instead, he held a conference call with local officials in Luverne and Edgerton.
Dayton spent part of Tuesday on Minnesota's northern border, where he visited International Falls and other flood-affected communities.
