COOPERSTOWN, ND (KFGO AM) -- A man serving life in prison for killing and beheading an NDSU researcher is again appealing his conviction.
Daniel Wacht claims a witness lied and he wants a new trial.
A jury found Wacht guilty of shooting Kurt Johnson after a night of drinking in Cooperstown.
Johnson's head was found in Wacht's basement.
His body has never been found.
The North Dakota Supreme Court earlier rejected an appeal after Wacht argued that officers did not have probable cause to search his van and home.
