RED LAKE, MINN. (KFGO-AM) - Two adults and two children were rescued after being adrift for hours in a disabled fishing boat on Northern Minnesota's Lower Red Lake.
A helicopter from the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol in Grand Forks, called in to assist, located the group early Wednesday morning.
Director of Air Operations Greg Abner, the pilot, said using an infrared system and night vision goggles, the crew located the boat after 45 minutes and guided rescuers to the location. Those on board were said to be in stable condition when found.
Abner says the boat's motor failed, leaving the group stranded. Lower Red Lake is one of the ten largest in Minnesota.
