Fargo, ND (kfgo am)-- The Fargo 13-15 yr-old Babe Ruth baseball team is ready to 'play ball' in the Babe Ruth World Series beginning Thursday, August 21st in Longview, WA.
Fargo, champions of the Midwest Regional, will begin pool play on Thursday night against host Longview with the first pitch scheduled for 9:35 central time. Saturday, August 23rd Fargo will play Torrance, CA at 2:05cst, and the following day the team will face Schererville, IN at 9:35pm. Monday, Fargo squares off against Tri-Country, TX at 7:05 to wrap up the pool play portion of the World Series.
The quarterfinals are set for Tuesday, August 26th, the semi's on Wednesday, with the Championship Game slated for Thursday, August 28th.
Members of the Fargo Babe Ruth All-Stars are: Jaden Anderson, Jimmy Reynolds, Luke DeVries, Cole Birch, Connor Ostendorf, Matthew Veit, Tyler Anderson, Matthew Thibert, Ben Swanson, Matt Pietsch, Jake Honl, Luke Sandy, Ben Bryant and Jackie Ross. Fargo's batboys are Colin Mendenhall and Skyler McCoy. The Babe Ruther's Diamond Girls are Quinn Laulainen and Ady Allen.
Fargo is coached by former Post 2 and NDSU standout Jim Honl. Honl is assisted by Paul Honl and Jeff Reynolds.
