FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO AM) -- A Fergus Falls mother has started a petition to get Governor Dayton to place restrictions on how close sex offenders can live to schools and daycares.
Heather Moore says she couldn't believe it when a level three sex offender moved just blocks from her son's elementary school.
There are no restrictions prohibiting offenders living near a school or daycare in Minnesota.
Some cities have passed local ordinances restricting sex offenders.
Moore already has 50 signatures on her petition, but needs 900 more signatures before she can submit it.
There are four high risk sex offenders currently living in Fergus Falls.
