FARGO (KFGO-AM) - Burlington Northern-Santa Fe says a company that refurbishes railroad car parts caused a derailment three years ago in Jamestown.
In a federal lawsuit, BNSF claims an axle and wheel set made by "Progress Rail Services" caused 22 coal cars to jump the tracks in December, 2010.
Among a long list of claims, BNSF says the reconditioned parts weren't properly tested and inspected.
The railroad is seeking a jury trial and at least $50,000 in damages.
