FARGO, N.D. (AP) - A man accused of killing two children on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation in North Dakota has been found guilty.
Twenty-year-old Valentino "Tino'' Bagola is charged with murder for the May 2011 slayings of 9-year-old Destiny Jane Shaw-Dubois and her 6-year-old brother, Travis Lee DuBois Jr. in St. Michael.
A jury of eight women and four men found Bagola guilty on Monday.
Authorities say Bagola stabbed the children to death after he sexually assaulted the girl, and that he did so because he was angry at their father but couldn't find him. Defense attorneys say the father of the victims is responsible.
The jury returned Monday after deliberating for three hours Thursday and about seven hours Friday.
