FARGO, ND (KFGO AM) -- A big traffic mess and a lot of inconvenience for nearly 9,000 Fargo customers of Xcel Energy.
An underground feeder line in the 1400 block of 25th street south failed, causing an outage along major routes including University Drive south and 13th avenue south.
It happened about 4:30, just as afternoon traffic started to pick up and resulted in some significant traffic snarls.
The outage caused a manhole cover to explode out of the street.
The steel cover hit a passing car, but the driver wasn't hurt.
The power was restored shortly after 6:00 pm.
