Fargo (KFGO AM) A new Wilder survey shows homelessness in the Fargo-Moorhead area has doubled in the past decade.
The snapshot survey conducted last year showed more than 870 people were homeless.
Doctor Greg Owen, a senior research manager at Wilder says the answer to the big increase of homelessness is complicated but he hopes something is done soon or there will be an entire generation of children who know nothing but homelessness.
The survey shows most of those homeless are men and percentage of those without a place to live for more than a year is up in both Fargo and Moorhead.
The percentage of homeless adults with serious mental health issues also increased.
