FARGO, ND (KFGO AM) -- The construction of a new $500-million medical center along I-94 in south Fargo has been pushed back.
Sanford Health says the facility's open date will now be sometime in 2017, not 2016 as originally planned.
Sanford Health Vice President for Facilities and Planning, Don Marty, says they've also had to trim some costs because they were way over budget.
A planned parking ramp has been changed to a parking lot further away from the facility.
That followed findings that the soil wasn't compatible so crews had to dig deeper and pay more for support beams.
Marty says the basic design has not changed, it's still 384 beds, 28 operating rooms, 51 emergency bays.
