A Fargo man, charged with human trafficking, has been sentenced to 3 years in prison and 5 years of supervised probation.
41-year old Chad Lindley pleaded guilty to the charge that he recruited women to work as prostitutes by posting ads on Craigslist. He was arrested in May of 2012 for pimping a woman in Fargo. It was the first case charged under a law that took effect in 2009.
Lt. Joel Vettel says the sentence sends a strong message to those who are running so-called escort ad's that they will be caught.
Lindley also pleaded guilty to 3 other charges, including using a minor in sexual performance.
Prosecutors had asked for a 5 year sentence.
