Fargo (KFGO AM) The City of Fargo plans another sale of buyout homes Wednesday at 1 P.M. at city hall. Nine homes in the flood plain will be on the auction block. They range from moderate to massive size.
Kevin Pifer of Pifer's Auction and Realty is handling the sale. He says he never ceases to be amazed about how many people want the homes.
Based on interest shown during a preview of the properties earlier this month, there could be upwards of 100 potential buyers for the auction.
Pifer says many of the homes are custom built and that explains the high interest this go-around. The homes must be moved or torn down for salvage.
Since the 2009 flood, Fargo has bought out 140 homes, 44 so far this year. Another 35 are scheduled to be auctioned off in January.
