GRAND FORKS, ND (KFGO AM) -- The intense storm that swept through the Red River Valley last Friday afternoon produced a damaging tornado.
A National Weather Service survey team says the twister touched down just before 5:30 in an unharvested soybean field northeast of Dumont in Traverse County.
The tornado reached EF-1 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, with winds ranging from 95 to 105 mph.
It was on the ground a quarter mile and took out several shelter belts, damaged a farm home, caused severe structural damage to a barn.
Pieces of the structure were found 50 yards away.
A power pole was also severed and fell on two cars.
No injuries were reported.
