FBI names killer of four on North Dakota indian reservation

New Town, ND  (KFGO-AM)   The FBI has concluded a nearly year long investigation into a shooting spree that killed a New Town, North Dakota woman and three of her grandchildren.

The report identifies 21-year old Kalcie Eagle of New Town as the lone killer but does not offer a motive on what caused him to enter the home and go on a killing rampage. Eagle committed suicide hours after the shootings. Up until now, the FBI had not officially linked eagle to the murders but local residents believed the family was a victim of random violence.

The report says autopsy and toxicology examinations revealed methamphetamine in Eagle's system and that before his death, Eagle made statements to others admitting his responsibility for the killings.

64-year old Martha Johnson, along with 3 of her five grandchildren, ages 6,10 and 13, were gunned down in their home November 18, 2012. Another grandchild survived by playing dead and another was outside sledding.
