FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- Fargo Police are cracking down on those texting behind the wheel, and they're being a bit sneaky as they look for violators. Sgt. Ryan Dorrheim looks more like a college student than a cop as he stands on a street corner in plain clothes. Once he sees someone texting behind the wheel, he radios an officer in a squad car to pull that person over.
Statistics show a driver who is texting is 23 times more likely to get into a crash than a non-texting driver.
The fine for texting behind the wheel in Fargo is $100.
