FARGO - (KFGO-AM) -- Its little more than a large hole in the ground now, but work on the $500 million Sanford Fargo Medical Center remains on schedule.
One of the top 10 hospital construction projects in the country, it will have one million sq. ft. and 384 beds.
Don Marty, Vice-President of Construction for Sanford, says much of the work to this point has been on the foundation.Next summer, structural steel will go up, significantly changing the skyline along I-94.
Completion is still expected in 2016 or 2017. Up to 800 construction workers will on the site during various phases of the project.
The building will be seven feet shorter than the tallest building in Fargo, the Radisson Hotel.
