WEST FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- A settlement between former assistant West Fargo high school football and basketball coach Jim Jonas and the administration.
In a statement released by Jonas through the school district, Jonas says he won't be coaching in the coming seasons, but he hopes with hard work and commitment, he can someday return to the sidelines and bench.
KFGO'S Mike McFeely, citing sources, says he's been told that Jonas could be coaching again as early as next year if he follows certain criteria set forth during a lengthy meeting between Jonas, Athletic Director Curt Jones and Superintendent David Flowers.
Jonas was asked to resign or be fired from his coaching responsibilities for unspecified reasons. His aggressive coaching style has been an issue in the past.
He's coached for 23 years and is also a social studies teacher at the high school.
