Heitkamp, Hoeven want FBI placed in ND oil patch

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Republican Sen. John Hoeven and Democratic Sen. Heidi Heitkamp have asked the FBI to place agents in Williston to help address increased crime in western North Dakota.

Heitkamp and Hoeven wrote to FBI Director James Comey urging him to move agents to Williston, which is in the heart of North Dakota's booming oil patch.

The senators say that additional FBI agents recently dispatched to Williston were temporarily assigned to Sidney, Mont., because of the lack of space in Williston.

They say permanent space has now been secured in Williston, but the FBI still has the agents located in Montana.
