FARGO (KFGO-AM) - North Dakota's solicitor general is asking that a state human rights complaint against Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem be dismissed. The complaint was based on comments Stenehjem made during an interview with KFGO News.
White supremacist Craig Cobb claimed Stenehjem violated his civil rights when he said Cobb and his followers are "not the kind of people" wanted in North Dakota.
Solicitor general Doug Bahr says Stenehjem's words are protected free speech and did not result in the loss of Cobb's civil rights.
Bahr also says Cobb's complaint does not identify a public service that Stenehjem failed to provide.
