MADISON, S.D. (AP) -- Low clouds derailed South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard's earlier attempt to jump out of an airplane.
But Wednesday evening should be sunny, so he'll try it again. Daugaard planned to skydive Aug. 15 in Madison to fulfill a pledge to help raise money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, but the pilot decided conditions weren't safe enough. He pledged to jump with Madison Dairy Queen owner DeLon Mork if the restaurant sold more than 32,000 Blizzard treats during a recent nationwide fundraiser.
The restaurant sold more than 38,000. It will be the first jump for the 60-year-old governor.
