BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- North Dakota's Sportsmen Against Hunger program is once again accepting goose meat donations during the early Canada goose hunting season.
Community Action Partnership sponsors the program as part of its efforts to serve low-income families across the state. A number of processors participate.
Hunters must remove the breast meat from birds before processors can accept them, and follow other requirements.
More information on the requirements and a list of participating processors can be found on the North Dakota Game and Fish Department website, at http://www.gf.nd.gov .
The early Canada goose season began last Thursday and runs through Sept. 15 in much of the state. It runs through Sept. 7 in the Missouri River zone.
